Wow, what a Christmas it’s been here at Arscott Farm! We’re so thrilled to share that this festive season brought more visitors than ever before,
Reflecting on our first summer of pick your own strawberries near Shrewsbury, we’re pleased that so many of you came along. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us in the strawberry fields at Arscott Farm and made it a memorable season. Witnessing the joy on the faces of kids and adults as they picked the ripest, juiciest strawberries and enjoyed picnics on our farm was truly heartwarming.
This year, we introduced four expansive polytunnels. These provided a whole mile of strawberry plants, thoughtfully designed with standing-height troughs bursting with delectable strawberries. Together, we harvested an astonishing 1.6 tonnes of this luscious fruit throughout the season.
While our first season wasn’t without its challenges, we embraced them as opportunities for growth. Unpredictable weather and pesky pests tested our resolve, and on some occasions, the overwhelming demand left us temporarily fruitless. But rest assured, we’ve taken these experiences to heart, and we’re committed to returning next year with an even more spectacular strawberry season.
In preparation for 2024, we’re making significant improvements. We’re expanding our capacity with more than double the number of strawberry plants, and we’ll have a total of ten polytunnels to ensure a bountiful supply. Our goal is to offer you the chance to pick fresh, delicious strawberries in Shropshire every day from the end of May right through to September.
