Forest school at Arscott Farm

Space to explore outdoors

Arscott Farm has its very own Forest School just minutes from Shrewsbury.

In 2-hour sessions on a Friday, primary school-aged kids (4-11) have a chance to run, build dens, go pond dipping, make crafts, light fires and learn bushcraft.

Outdoor education sessions are taught by Heather Bent, Forest School Association Level 3 Forest school Leader and a Wellbeing in Nature Practitioner. Heather was previously a primary school teacher and deputy head for 25 years.

We invite families, homeschoolers, parents and grandparents to come along. Parents are invited to get involved and join in with their kids.

Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty! In winter especially, wear waterproofs if possible with lots of layers, long sleeves, long legs, hats and gloves.

Arscott Forest School will run in all but high winds. If that’s the case, we’ll reschedule the session.

We are of course happy for sibling groups to come along. Under 4s can attend free of charge if they have an older, paying sibling, provided they are supervised by a parent at all times.

All children must be accompanied by someone they know well so that they feel relaxed and able to enjoy being at Forest School.

No birthday parties please unless all children are accompanied by their parents or carers.

There are up to 10 children in a session.
